Shalom my Brothers and Sisters in Yeshua,
Recently, I was alerted of the need to warn you all of the spread of Anti-Semitism within the church that is masked in a very appealing, yet entirely false doctrine. This false doctrine is spreading rapidly and the chances are relatively high that even your church or denomination is preaching this message or supports this belief in some way.
Before I explain, you may be asking:
How is it possible that such a thing as Anti-Semitism could be blatantly let into the church and even preached from the pulpit?
Wouldn't the church do all in it's power to fight such a false doctrine?
Does my church support this?
It is my goal to answer these questions and then have you ask:
What can I do to stop it?
It is my strong belief that for every great truth there is a great lie.
In this case, the great truth is that the Jewish people are God's Chosen people, the nation of Israel.
The great lie is that the church replace God's Chosen people, or that the word "Israel" can now be replaced with the word "church".
The official title for this Anti-Semitic doctrine is "Replacement Theology."
Replacement Theology is taught in the church, in seminaries and even in Christian schools.
Beware of this false doctrine!
It is dangerous to the entire survival of the Jewish people... after all, crusades and even the Holocaust were done in the name of the church.
Frequently I have heard people say to me, "Erin, I admire that you have chosen to take up this cause but I don't feel the same draw to Israel that you do."
To that, I would like to reply, "It may not make sense to you now, but very soon the 'issue' of Israel and the Jewish people will land on your doorstep and you will be faced with a decision that has everything to do with the God of Israel... and you need to be aware of what is going on."
Let's face it, there is no other country in the world that has the widespread impact that Israel has. And if this statement shocks you, it's time to wake up!
But what if I told you that Anti-Semitism is very much alive within the church?
I'd like to expose the myths that the church has spread in relation to the Jews, Israel and the Jewishness of Jesus. At the core, these myths have already caused a Holocaust and if we do not do something to stop it now, I can't even imagine what could happen in the not-too-distant future as we are living in these last days.
Before I list these myths I would like to state that there are plenty of resources available for your research, yet I recommend reading the Bible with new eyes and a heart that is willing to see the truth behind these myths. I could take hours to cite scriptures for each sentence I write, but as Believers, I trust you will search this out for yourselves and truly study the Word.
Myths that your church could be teaching:
1. Since Israel rejected Jesus as the Messiah, they are no longer God's Chosen People.
Sadly, a completely unbiblical lie has been spread throughout the church that states that since the Jews rejected Jesus, they are no longer in covenant with God as His Chosen People. I believe this is rooted in Anti-Semitic sentiments that boil down to jealousy that God would still remain faithful to His People even if they did not accept Him at the time. Human nature has always wanted to place blame on a specific group of people, in particular the Jews, for the death of Jesus so that they can some how justify it in their minds. Those that fall for this way of thinking haven't considered that Jesus knew He would be rejected by His people, so that the Gentile world would also be able to receive salvation through His death and resurrection. Keep in mind, people from all backgrounds have rejected Jesus regardless of whether they have been Jew or Gentile.
To make the argument that God has neglected His people and broke His specific covenant with them implies that God is not a keeper of His promises. So, the heart of this false belief actually points a finger in the face of God and says that He is not honest and does not abide by His covenants. If that were true, we'd all be questioning whether or not we will receive eternal life as "promised", wouldn't we?
I know for a fact that my God keeps His promises with me personally... so how much more does he honor His covenant with His Chosen?
2. The Church now replaces Israel because of Israel's disobediance to God.
I have yet to see any Scripture that indicates that the "church" now replaces Israel. This is an outright abomination to God, who established this covenant from the very beginning with His People. If the church now replaces Israel, then this implies that God can go back on His Word and choose to replace people at any time with a new group of people. My God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change.
I believe that the church has instituted this in order to dismiss their responsibility in serving the Jewish People. Let's face it, if you don't feel responsible for someone, you allow them to die by the millions in a Holocaust, or you listen as suicide bombers blow them up on buses and dismiss this by saying they "deserve" it because God has turned His back on them.
The church has a lot of blood on it's hands and instead of excusing such blasphemy, it's time to do what we were called to do: Serve.
3. Jesus was not a practicing Jew.
Oh yeah?
Try repainting an accurate portrait of Jesus in your mind. Dismiss all Aryan-looking portrayals of Jesus with blonde hair and blue eyes with perfectly pale skin wearing robes and staring at you with a look of anguished confusion.
That's not my Messiah.
My Messiah was Jewish. Jewish in every way. He had dark skin, Israeli features, wore a Tallit and practiced Judaism. He was circumcised, raised in a Jewish home and practiced the Jewish feasts and celebrations. He attended Synagogue and ate kosher. he didn't look like a skinny pitiful wimp... He had compassion radiating from Him, smiled, socialized with the people and was perfectly focused on His purpose: to redeem mankind from the death-trap of sin.
I could cite references that prove His Jewishness, yet I highly recommend that you read or re-read the four Gospels and pray for new eyes to see what has been written there all along about the Jewishness of Jesus... or shall I say, Yeshua.
4. Modern-day Israel is the occupier of land that belongs to the Palestinians.
If the church believes that Israel has taken land that does not rightfully belong to them, then they are probably a very liberal church and certainly confused. God has not only chosen the Jewish People as His own, but He has chosen the land of Israel as well. According to the Bible, the Palestinians do not have a right to this land as they are referred to as the enemies.
The influence of the media has a lot to do with this. The media makes Israel out to be the agressors, yet in the modern state of Israel's history, they have not initiated wars. Wars were forced upon them.
Explain suicide bombings, Kassam rockets and missiles, and other acts of terror that Israel struggles with on a daily basis.
If your church supports the Palestinian cause, address the issue with them and if they will not consider or change their anti-biblical stance, dust off your sandals and move on.
5. The church is not obligated to support Israel because the existance of Israel is a political issue and the church should not take a political stance or be involved in politics.
Just like the church shouldn't fight abortion.
Just like the church should allow homosexuals to be in leadership.
Just like the church should keep it's head in the sand and preach one hour feel-good messages about how God wants you to make more money or live comfortably.
Just like the church should build a newer, bigger, better building where you can socialize in and wear designer clothes to and feel more important.
Just like the church should debate about whether or not their funds should go to missions or the new carpet fund.
Just like the church should sit silently, coldly, shallowly while the world is falling apart all around.
If the church doesn't do anything good, it's good for nothing.
And,
If the church does not take a stand for the Jewish People, it will have to stand before God and tell Him to His face why they didn't lift a finger for the apple of His eye when He so clearly instructed them to do so.
Thank God, in spite of the church, Israel still exists and the Jewish People have survived.
Now you may ask:
What can I do to stop this?
- Meet with the leaders of your church and ask them point blank what their stance is on Israel. If they are advocates of Replacement Theology, email myself or my parents who will be happy to assist you in ways you can make your church aware of the seriousness behind such a doctrine. We would be happy to provide you with books and references, we can coach you on how to bring up this concern in an appropriate fashion and we can even contact your leaders personally to talk or meet with them about this issue.
- Educate yourself on what is happening in the world. Learn to see the lies projected by the media. Research the doctrines and statements of your church. Compare the truth against what is being projected upon you. Test the spirits.
- Read the Bible. The greatest downfall of the Christian population is that they do not read their Bibles or they never move from the milk of the Word to the meat of the Word. Do not get stuck on "feel-good" messages. Challenge yourself and dig deeper into the mysteries of the Word that God wishes to grant you knowledge on. Grow.
I urge you, loved ones, not to be a member of the Church of Anti-Semitism.
"You made Israel your people forever, and you, O Lord, became their God."
