Shalom Family and Friends,

 

A recent realization hit me this past weekend after a very contemplative time at home while resting.  You may not have been formally told by me, but my calling is not just to God's Chosen People in Israel, but my calling is also to you!  It is just as much of a burden on my heart to report back to you the things that occur here and will eventually affect you there as it is for me to serve here daily to love and comfort His people.  I suppose it became so evident to me when I sent my recent update entitled "When my heart is overwhelmed" and received only two replies, the least of any update I have ever sent.  I suppose it may have hit home with so many that you didn't quite now how to respond.  And that's OK!  I just want you to know that you have a "secret agent" on the front lines that can tell you what is headed your way.  Please take advantage of that while you still can.  Ask me your questions, flood my inbox, overwhelm me with your interest in these "end times events" so that I do not fear that the church is truly asleep... though I believe that time is here.

 

I often discuss with my mom the conflict of trying not to sound like "Erin the Doomsday Prophet" while still not ignoring God's very real messages He places upon my heart.  You have an advantage that very few have.  You know someone who lives in Israel, of all places, where so many things that will eventually influence you there occur!  Perhaps you get tired of hearing so much about what is going on...  Sometimes I get tired of writing it!  But I encourage you to not give into that spirit, for it leads to spiritual blindness.

 

I have such a desire to warn you all on a spiritual level about what's coming.  I have to hold myself at a very delicate balance so as not to offend others, yet offend them enough to be interested in what is so evident to me.  I am sure that when the prophets Jeremiah, Isaiah and others like them spoke day after day about coming doom, the people eventually clicked delete... err, I mean ignored them (small joke there!).  If that is what God has called me to do, I am ultimately accountable to Him and will risk all to do just that: warn you regardless of the response or lack thereof.  I do apologize for my repetitiveness... and at the same time I don't.

 

Yesterday, Tomer called me with interesting news (this is another item that is confidential so please do not forward this to people outside of this email list).  He has been working as a Special Forces Policeman in Jerusalem for four years now and has never been told to do what he was told yesterday. 

His unit is being told to do drills in preparation for two things:

 

1. A "general" war - A general war means a war on all fronts.  Israel is preparing for this very real possibility and is taking measures to prepare for such an event.  Considering that we are surrounded by the most vicious of enemies and considering recent threats, we have no choice but to be ready. 

 

2. A massive earthquake - Scientists have predicted a massive earthquake will occur in the year 2007 here in Israel.  We already have felt tremors in recent years and we know that prophetically (Revelation 11) there will be an earthquake unlike any in history that will occur here.  It may or may not be in 2007, but we are preparing just the same.

 

Just when I thought my bomb shelter was all up to date and I could sleep away the rockets and missiles, now I have to prepare for an earthquake?  Oy vey!

 

This is the stuff that thrills me to no end.  Why?  because it is through these mighty displays of God's power that so many will finally come to know Him personally.  There are many now in this world who say they know about Him, but do they truly know Him?  Those of us who do know Him have peace and live without fear of these upcoming events.  Those who don't live in fear and even denial.  Which one of these describes you? 

 

This past week the short term repair team from the States went back home, though their hearts were left here.  Not only did they repair and make livable homes for needy Ethiopian Jewish families, but they also visited a children's village of foreign workers in Tel Aviv and repaired their day care centers and bought them toys and brand new furniture.  This one team reached out to more lives in two weeks than in their lifetime!  It was an amazing success for our Messiah... because He blesses those who bless Israel. 

 

As thanksgiving approaches this week... as you gather around the table for an amazing dinner with your family, please remember to thank God for all that He has blessed you with.   Please say a special prayer for all of our volunteers at CFI who miss our families dearly and though we can't be there with everyone in person, we are with all of our families in spirit.  The sacrifices we make now, though painful in the offering, will be returned one day.  Oh, and eat a little extra stuffing and turkey for me... I miss that stuff!
