11/09/06 - Israel Update: Emergency Prayers Needed!

Shalom Warriors,

Tensions are building here in the Middle East and Israel is the center of the storm.

A Gay Parade has been planned to take place Friday (tomorrow) in Jerusalem.  For the past two weeks the Orthodox have been violently rioting and demonstrating against it.  The police have been intervening and trying to maintain the order but many violent acts have been carried out.  The government is trying to reach a decision about canceling the parade.  Currently, the parade has been moved to a standing event hosted by Hebrew University.  Riots are still being planned regardless.

As tensions arise in Gaza, police received 80 threats of terror attacks today.  The Arabs are rioting at the Temple Mount and plan to riot again tomorrow in the Old City, Eastern Jerusalem and at the Temple Mount again.

The threats of these two events taking place in Jerusalem have led to CFI canceling work for tomorrow.  This is the first day we have canceled coming in to work due to security threats since I started a year ago.  I say all this to show you the very real threats that exist and to ask you for your prayers.

If you have not done so, I highly encourage you to read the most recent update I sent entitled "When my heart is overwhelmed". It explains in greater detail what is happening in these last days.

The tension in the air is think and is spiritually suffocating to all of us.  It is a constant battle to remain steadfast in the Lord and not allow the distractions of the enemy to wear us down.  The spiritual dynamics of what is going on make the war in Lebanon seem much less difficult to endure.  I have never experienced this spiritual state in my entire life and it's a new experience for all of us, even volunteers who have been int he land for twenty years.

New times have come, a new page has been turned and what we are about to see is the book of Revelation manifested before us.
Don't be blind,

This is Erin reporting LIVE from Jerusalem and requesting your diligent prayers...
